A masterpiece of seven centuries of Kashi-kari artistic lineage.

The Story

This vase is hand-painted by Ustad Ghulam Murtaza, a Multan-based master potter whose family has worked in blue pottery for generations. Made from a white clay and quartz paste rather than ordinary clay, the vase is shaped on the wheel before Ustad Ghulam paints the cobalt-glaze florals freehand, working from memory rather than a stencil — a skill passed down through apprenticeship rather than schooling. The finished piece is fired at high heat to fuse the glaze into that signature glassy blue-white surface Multan's potters have been known for since the Mughal era.

Ustad Ghulam Murtaza

With over 45 years of experience, Ustad Ghulam is one of the few remaining masters of the authentic "Kashi" style. He personally oversees the firing process, ensuring the blue glaze reaches its iconic crystalline depth. Every purchase directly supports his workshop and the training of four local apprentices.
